Mrs. Alma Jean Parker Williams, age 76 formerly of DeFuniak Springs, widow of the late James Cleveland Williams, passed away Friday, December 21, 2012 in a Pensacola hospital. She was born January 17, 1936 in Caryville, Florida, the daughter of Eugene and Hattie McBride Parker. She moved to DeFuniak Springs where she was an active member of Greater St. Joseph AME Church. Mrs. Williams is preceded in death by her parents and husband, her son Felix Harold Parker Sr., her daughter Patricia Gail Young, her grandson Felix Parker Jr., her granddaughter Nelsa Young, her sisters, Mamie Parker Delegol and Mary Louise Parker Terrell.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Zachary “Chuck” Bunkley and wife Carolyn of Tampa, Florida, Hattie Mosley-House and husband Michael of Pensacola, Terry Young-Brinston and husband David of Milton and Dr. Sarah Williams-Tolliver and husband Clarence of Virginia Beach, Virginia. A loving and faithful sister Ella Jean Green of Houston, Texas. She has been blessed with fourteen grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren. Also, her special nieces and nephews, Kenneth “Kenny” Delegol and wife Denise of Detroit, Michigan, Gregory “Greg” Delegol and wife Cecil of DeFuniak Springs, Angela Graham and husband Edward “Wayne” of DeFuniak Springs, Quintus Byron “QB” Terrel of Edmond Oklahoma, Jamal S. Green of Houston, Texas, Jawanza L. Green of Houston, Texas, Jawara O. Green (Jonella) of Houston, Texas, and Niasha K. Green of Houston, Texas. A very special first cousin, Mary Alice Johnson of Miami and Brother-in-Law, Robert Terrell of Edmond, Oklahoma and two “surrogate” children, Victoria (Vicki) Jennings and William (Bill) Jennings also survive.
A Celebration of Alma Jean Parker Williams life will be Saturday, December 29, 2012 beginning at 1:00 P.M. in Greater St. Joseph AME Church in DeFuniak Springs. Burial will follow in the Williams Family Plot in Magnolia Cemetery.
