Mr. A. J. York age 58 passed away Saturday, November 7, 2020 in Chautauqua Health and Rehabilitation Center where he had been cared for for the past seleven years. He was born in Fort Walton Beach, the son of Ruben Harold York and Donna Kay York Odom. He attended Okaloosa County Schools including Meigs Junior High and it was at Max Bruner he learned to play the saxophone and became quite accomplished. He was an avid fisherman, fishing in the gulf and bay waters of the Panhandle. After a debilitating automobile accident in which his mother lost her life he was confined to constant long time care. He had a love of music, country and rock and roll and loved watching the History Chanel and sports programs involving fishing. He is predeceased by his mother and father and his daughter, April York.
Among survivors are his brother Dean York and Marilyn White.
AJ will be laid to rest beside his mother and his daughter in Concerned Christian Cemetery. Memorialzation will be by cremation. Friends and family may go on line to view obituaries, offer condolences and sign the guest register at jerryevansfuneralhome.com
