Johnny Irvine

John Paul Irvine, Sr (Johnny) passed away peacefully on August 8, 2023.  Johnny was born in Cartersville, Georgia on April 17, 1941, to parents Kenneth B. and Martha F. Keith Irvine.  He lived in Hapeville, Georgia into his high school years before moving to DeFuniak Springs in 1957 and graduating from Walton High School.

Johnny married Vicki Nowling in 1989 and was blessed to enjoy 33 years with her as his wife.

Johnny was owner and operator of Miracle Laundry and Dry Cleaners from 1969 to 1979 and Discount Carpet and Décor from 1979 to the present.  In addition, he had a fitness center, JVC Fitness Center, where he enjoyed working out and training others about fitness and body building.

Johnny’s greatest passion was training his AKC beagles.  He participated in AKC Field Trials all over the country, winning numerous trophies.  Because of his knowledge and experience, he was a renowned judge for the sport.

He is preceded in death by his father Kenneth Baillie Irvine, mother Martha Fay Keith Irvine, son Kenneth Lee Irvine, brother Phillip Eugene Irvine, and former wife Charlotte Ann Infinger Irvine.

Johnny is survived by his wife Vicki Nowling Irvine, sons John P. Irvine, Jr and Chris Strickland (Deanna), and brother Thomas K. Irvine.   He is also survived by two granddaughters, Maya and Alex (daughters of John Paul) and one grandson, Kingsley (son of Chris and Deanna).

Johnny will always be remembered as a man of integrity whose work ethic was admired and respected.  He was always full of joy and his smile was truly unforgettable.

Visitation will be held at McDonald Family Funeral Home on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 10:00am.

A service will begin at 11:00am with graveside following at Magnolia Cemetery.
